Description (Service)

The Elder Abuse Enquiries / Reporting service provides information, assistance and police response for seniors experiencing abuse, neglect or safety concerns in Halton Region

  • responds to reports of elder abuse, including physical harm, neglect, medication misuse, financial exploitation and psychological mistreatment
  • offers information to help protect seniors and encourages older adults and their loved ones to contact police when abuse or safety concerns arise
  • provides guidance on recognizing possible signs of elder abuse such as unexplained injuries, fear or withdrawal, poor hygiene, malnutrition or unusual financial activity
  • connects callers to additional support such as the Senior Safety Line for confidential advice
