Description (Service)

Volunteers assist the hospital staff in providing care to patients and help financially by fundraising. Volunteers help in a variety of areas and roles including:

  • nursing units
  • in-hospital patient transport
  • dialysis
  • Emergency
  • Information Desk
  • Long-term care
  • library book cart
  • Out-patient Clinics
  • patient visitation
  • surgical day care
  • rehabilitation therapy
  • ConnectCARE
  • off site opportunities throughout the Halton community
  • gift shop, convenience store, fundraising activities
  • many other opportunities, including leadership opportunities with the volunteer association or volunteer department
  • volunteer positions exist days, evenings and weekends

Eligibility Ages: 14 year(s) and up
  • physically and mentally capable of performing tasks as required
  • two references are required, along with a baseline immunization record, proof of COVID vaccination (2 doses) and tuberculosis testing
  • police checks may be required
