Hearts4Ukraine

a Ukrainian Newcomer Support Network helping to welcome and settle newcomer Ukrainians, many of them mothers with children, as they adjust to life in Canada

Volunteer Coordinating Committee

  • get involved in the planning of many events to bring the newcomers together and welcome them to our community
  • direct newcomers to resources for help with accommodations, employment and access support programs
  • work to design a program to meet the needs of the newcomers

Volunteer Family Support Network

  • helping to make newcomers arriving in the GTA from Ukraine feel welcome
  • giving mothers with children the opportunity to connect with someone and help guide them
  • check if they are doing well and include them in community events
  • provide transportation and assistance with applying for government documents, or going grocery shopping
  • look for opportunities for the children to meet others and make friends

Host Accommodations

  • there is an urgent need for accommodations, ranging from emergency stays of up to a week to longer term accommodation so newcomers are able find jobs and a place of their own
  • in Halton Region, register your willingness to host a family through the HMC Connections website

SVCC Food Basket Program

  • supporting the emergency needs of Ukrainian newcomers to the Oakville area
  • must have arrived under the CUAET program
  • featuring fresh produce as well as Ukrainian ingredients
