Description (Service)

Low interest loans up to $15,000 to pay for the credentials, licensing, retraining or professional development that internationally trained professionals need to work in Canada

Loan may be used for

  • education and training programs of two years or less
  • fees for licensing and qualifying exams
  • credentials assessments
  • English or French language training
  • living allowance
  • relocation costs for employment
  • travel expenses to take courses or exams not available in client's area
  • books, course materials and work equipment
  • professional association fees

Eligibility Ages: 18 year(s) and up Adults 18 years and older who are permanent residents, provincial nominees, convention refugees, protected persons or Canadian citizens wishing to work in the same field they trained for outside of Canada or to apply transferable skills to a new career
  • must demonstrate that have a Career Success Plan that requires funding
  • cannot be used to start a business
