A cadet program for youth

Description (Service)

Provides opportunities for youth to gain valuable knowledge and skills that build confidence and help pave the way in a transition to adulthood

  • engage in varied and unique experiences, while developing competencies in leadership, citizenship, and physical and mental fitness

Program includes:

  • knowledge and skills about seamanship
  • sailing including navigation
  • Pleasure Craft Operators Certificate as well as a Radio License
  • traditions of the Royal Canadian Navy

Cadets are supervised, administered, and trained by Cadet Instructor Cadre Officers and non-commissioned members of a sub-component of the Reserve Force of the Candian Armed Forces

Cadets are not part of the Canadian Forces, nor is there any expectation for them to join the military

Hours

Cadet training: Wed 6:15 pm-9:30 pm, Sep-Jun

  • additional weekend training depending on need/interest
